Biography |
Singer/Songwriter Damien Lamar Florida bred by way of New York, started his local singing career in gospel and soul. He has broadened and repackaged his repertoire to include original compositions as well as collected works by other young emerging composers with jazz, acoustic and R & B influences.
Lamar understands the concept of bringing listeners to an elevated musical plane through his collection of dramatic ballads and sensitive love songs that hearken back to bygone eras. His expressive movements, superb song delivery, unique composition and seductive lyrics make for a distinctive listening experience. Lamar has performed professionally for the last ten years at such noted venues as The Twisted Martini, London Bridge Pub, 9th & Main, Eclate Jazz Club, The Jacksonville Landing, and the 15th Annual Kuumba Festival. He has shared the stage with several groups in the greater Jacksonville area including: SOUL, Heavenly Noise, the Shawn Lightfoot Brigade, OKTBRWRLD, and Aerial Tribe. He is best known for his recent work with the jazz/fusion band EvenStill.
